Exciting sprinter REGENCY LEGEND should take a lot of beating in this event, although I am not sure this will be a betting race. He has the best figures but a 3-y-old conceding weight all around to older and mostly more experienced gallopers is never ideal. That said, both his Hong Kong wins have proven he is destined to be a Group 1 galloper and in a seven-runner field where his main opponents are all-weather specialists, he looks to be quite well-placed. CALIFORNIA FORTUNE might be the main danger if allowed to dictate the pace on his terms, but he only receives 1kg from Regency Legend and that doesn’t look enough, even though there’s a 5.5kg swing from their last meeting. UGLY WARRIOR and RAGING BLITZKRIEG both have solid form around them, but will be they be as effective on the turf compared with the dirt where they have delivered their better performances? Regency Legend looks special; I don’t want to be taking the shorts though. If you really want to bet the race, then maybe have a small outlay on California Fortune, but I’ll leave that decision to you.
