The Group 1 Stewards’ Cup will see Beauty Generation start a very short-priced favourite and naturally he’s impossible to take on. The Hong Kong Mile winner and current Horse of the Year is in imperious form and in this small field few traps exist that one could have him fall into and therefore being beaten outside of something untoward happening. Zac Purton will roll to the lead at his leisure, set good fractions (not too slow) and kick clear in the straight. CONTE is certainly a horse on the rise, but whilst he has been posting good numbers, he has lengths to find to match Beauty Generation at this stage. It’s possible that he might, but unlikely right now. Maybe one approach is to take an exacta, with Beauty Generation to beat Conte, but that is still likely to be the favoured option and therefore no spoils. PAKISTAN STAR is a genuine chance of running the quinella and probably a better price. The issue, and it’s a significant one, is that when he starts down the back straight, it is often when he gets up to his tricks. His ability though is second only to Beauty Generation and maybe at this best he could actually challenge him.
