This is quite an even race on paper but there might be some smaller plays here with PERFECT TO PLAY and/or FLASH FAMOUS. The former was a sound fourth over the course and distance at his last outing when he ended up a long way back from a wide gate. I have Perfect To Play mapping a lot better this time around, just behind the leaders following what is likely to be a slow overall speed. With this being his fourth run of the preparation and having had the benefit of a run over this distance he can go close. Flash Famous was going to be right in the finish 10 days ago when he ran out of room and stepping up to the mile now looks suitable, especially if he can muster some early speed from barrier 1. MARVEL JOY always seems to find one better (he’s a Hong Kong maiden from 20 starts), but he has performed alright this term and Purton takes the saddle. GOOD FOR YOU had excuses at his last start when lunging at the gates and losing significant ground from the beginning. The horse’s run prior to Glory Star rated well enough for him to be competitive here with an even getaway. C P POWER is another horse that shouldn’t be far away in the finish, particularly if he can repeat his effort from the same race (231) as Good For You. The map is pretty messy so I won’t suggest any large unit outlays at all, but I like the chances of Perfect To Play and Flash Famous primarily. Good For You is another you might end up having something on as well.
