There doesn’t look to be much pace in this event and I believe that JOLLY AMBER can settle a lot closer to the front given he is taking a step up in trip following an effort over 1400m that had some merit. His only victory from 20 starts came over 1800m at Happy Valley but he can run well at Sha Tin and in an even race, is a marginal favourite with me. YOUNG GLORY is definitely one to keep safe and closely monitor his price. He will appreciate the step up in distance and arguably has a touch more upside than most. He sustained a good final-1000m (58.96) over the mile last time but I’m not sure he maps that well here from barrier 14. INDIGENOUS STAR comes through the same form line (race 302) and he looks close to a win. RIGHTEOUS MATE drops in to this grade for the first time and with just one placing from 16 starts, it is hard to get too enthusiastic about his chances but this is certainly easier than recent outings. PROUD SKY might come up a bit short with Joao Moreira booked to ride but he can settle on-pace and is actually holding his form well enough, he’s just very limited overall. I’m happy to consider an each way outlay on Jolly Amber however.
