There are two horses in this event that stand out to me and it might be worthwhile outlaying a small quinella with them. THE CREATETH clearly appreciated the move to Sha Tin at his last outing over 1,200m and the manner in which he hit the line following a checkered run, suggested 1,400m this time looks ideal. There should be good speed here and he just needs a bit of luck from a tricky draw. His 1400m failures came when not racing as well for different trainers and he looks on top of his game now. The main danger is HURRICANE HUNTER who visually coasted home last start and on the back of a fast pace, it performance rated quite highly for the grade (Class 5). He might map a touch closer here and has obvious claims, especially considering he carries 5kg less here – he deserves to be favourite. TOUCH OF LUCK (awkwardly drawn) and FLASH FAMOUS both ran with merit behind Monica over the track and trip but the sedate tempo meant the race didn’t rate that well overall. That said, the shape probably didn’t suit either of them and allow them to run to their best – there should be a bit more speed here today and that could allow them to step up. The blinkers going on might help Touch Of Luck. I’m happy to have a small quinella with clearly the two best chances here though, Hurricane Hunter and The Createth.
