summary
There looks to be a decent quality bet in this event, SAVVY SEVEN. On his eighth start in Hong Kong he finds himself in the bottom grade and hasn’t exactly disgraced in recent outings. If he can recapture the form he possessed when running fourth to Fortunate Runner (Race 95) over 1400m then he should be winning. That was his third career start and since then he has been tried over longer distances and failed. It is worth noting, from Race 95, Follow Me (second), Supreme Witness (sixth), Nordic Warrior (seventh) and Pearl Champion (10th) have all won and Savvy Seven delivered the second-best 600m (34.54) from that event. DRAGON WARRIOR has the blinkers going back on and he had clear excuses at his last outing when caught wide. He seems to be a massive price in early betting. THE FULL BLOOM is going to be popular with punters given Zac Purton teams up with Dennis Yip (33% this season) and considering that The Full Bloom has won two of his three starts in this grade. The horse returns to Sha Tin and this looks an obvious plot to try and get him to win his fourth Hong Kong race over the distance. BEST GIFT backs-up relatively quickly following a sound run in defeat over 1,200m and he might appreciate the extra furlong.
