BANK ON RED is the best bet of the night and will be very hard to beat. He was enormous in defeat on IJC night (race 234) when runner-up following negative riding tactics from a wide draw. He still posted the fifth-best final-200m (11.14) of the meeting and although a beaten favourite on that occasion, he can atone this time. SUMSTREETSUMWHERE finished third in the same race but he had a good run and might have to settle for a minor spot again. TOP LAURELS is a genuine contender. He was incredibly brave when settling on-pace and finishing second to Flying Quest in a race where the tempo took its toll late. I am just not sure where he ends up from the outside gate, but he is a good quinella option. HAPPY DRAGON will have his share of admirers following a couple of runs this preparation where things haven’t really worked out. I like De Sousa taking over the reins and Happy Dragon is close to a win. If playing a Quaddie, it might be worth including BEAUTY LOYAL (on a smaller unit ‘wider’ ticket) who is up to a mile and they might try and lead with him. He didn’t seem to handle the tempo last time but hit the line quite well and might be one to consider. Happy though that Bank On Red is the main outlay here.
