summary

Some rather moderate gallopers line up in this Class 5 event but NATURAL FLARE gets a great opportunity to finally notch his first win on the back of a solid run for second behind Supreme Witness at his last start. However, he is drawn poorly and that will make it difficult to get an economical-enough run for him to win. YOUNG GLORY has the blinkers back on, gets a drop in class and if he can get away on terms, position in the first third of the field and can produce some of his form from earlier this term, then he will be a good chance to win. He looks a small play given where the early market has pegged him. If Joao Moreira can get MONEY WINNER into the race in the early stages, then he looks a genuine contender also, but I did feel as though he was looking for more ground when assessing him. That said, these are usually the type of gallopers that Moreira can get a tune out of. INDIGENOUS STAR is on the back-up from Wednesday and the return to Sha Tin is a positive. I’m not overly enthusiastic here, although even though poorly drawn Natural Flare is worth a very small outlay with Young Glory.

speed

This is a bit of a messy map with the speed not straightforward to ascertain. OTOUTO can potentially go forward with YOUNG GLORY, ROYAL PREROGATIVE and SCARBOROUGH FAIR. The overall speed isn’t likely to be fast.
