There are three main chances in this event, which on paper appears to really lack any pace. I have HO HO KHAN marked favourite based on a sterling run to win his last outing over this course and distance. He overcame some difficulty on the point of the turn and rallied strongly between runners whilst posting the eighth-best final-200m (11.55) off a strong tempo. He should get a good run here and prove very competitive. HAPPY DRAGON is simply ready to win. He has had clear excuses on a couple of recent runs and with even luck on today he could easily post his first local success. If Whyte is positive out of the gates and gets a good position quickly, then Happy Dragon is a terrific chance. BIGWOOD should have won his last start. He is also progressive, but must concede weight and that might make it difficult. Nonetheless, he should get an economical run and will be fighting out the finish. Outside of those three FAMOUS WARRIOR might get an easier time on the speed here and can also run well. I’m happy to back Ho Ho Khan each way here, although another approach is to back both it and Happy Dragon to win.
