There should be decent speed in this event. BEST EFFORT caught the eye when second on his last outing when held-up a touch before rallying and being beaten by Chiu Chow Kid (second in a Class 4 since). That sort of form level looks good enough to win this event. He will need some luck from a wide alley and doesn’t stand out, but he rated well enough there to warrant top spot in this contest. KWAICHUNG BROTHERS comes through the same form line and he can be competitive, but given he has won only one from 25 it is difficult to get too enthusiastic. WONDERFUL TIGER maps nicely and a more genuine tempo will probably enhance his chances. He has genuine claims to figure in the finish but he is still a Hong Kong maiden and has come up short in early markets. THE JOY OF GIVING was plain disappointing at his last outing, but his form prior is clearly good enough to win this race. The best value here is around Best Effort and The Joy Of Giving, however, they’ll need a touch of luck and are worth small outlays only.
