This is a difficult race. HAPPY TOUR rated very well when winning second-up this season and he had excuses last time when he raced close enough to a hot speed, however, his lack of experience on this surface might mean he’ll come up plenty short-enough in the market. I think SWEETIE BARLEY was very good, with excuses, on this surface when he last competed and he deserves another chance. The issue is that his racing pattern rarely has him mapping in a position close to the speed. FLYING LOVER went well in a recent trial on this surface but is a maiden from 15 starts and being from the Me Tsui stable, he might come up short enough in the betting as well given the trainer’s good record in all-weather races. GRAND HARBOUR will work forward and can run well, while STAR SUPERIOR has won on this surface and his last run was a lot better than it reads on paper. He might be worth a small play as well in a competitive race. Don’t outlay much, but have small plays on Sweetie Barley and Star Superior.
