It is rare that I will invest in the 2,200m races at either course and this is no exception. There are a host of chances and to a large extent you are betting on the best ride on an unpredictable tempo. That being said, HAPPY ROCKY (SID) ran well in defeat recently and the step-up to 2,200m should be a sound move. The local combination of Chang and Lai will ensure he will likely go out at good odds. YOU HAVE MY WORD was a sound winner at his last outing and third-up he might have a touch of improvement to show as well. He’s drawn well so can settle a pair or two closer than normal around midfield. SAVANNAH WIND has been racing well without winning while SMART BABY comes up in class and his win rated well enough to suggest that he could go back-to-back and win an average 2200m race in this class. GOOD DAYS is another that has claims in an open affair, but all things considered I’m happy to suggest a small each way on Happy Rocky, but be flexible and watch prices closely.
