There is a runner here that has drawn wide, but rates well and therefore I have him a better chance than where the early market sits – PAKISTAN FRIEND. He was excellent on a strong pace when he won last time and I believe he has plenty more to offer. Pakistan Friend should be able to work forward and find nice spot and even though he’s stepping up in class I believe he can win again with a light weight. SUPER GIANT is a genuine contender on the back of his last outing, which was encouraging. He will undoubtedly strip fitter and with the blinkers applied at his third Hong Kong start he could go close and has been backed accordingly. Zac Purton taking the ride is a good lead and clearly a major plus as well. BANK ON RED looks to be a big price and reasonable value in early betting and he comes through a fast-run race (152) last start and might get an easier tempo here. He’s drawn poorly though so Clipperton will have to make some decisions early. CHEERFUL BOY bounces back into Class 3 after a good win four weeks ago when leading all the way. If given an easy fraction or two he might also take some catching in the lead again, although I expect Pakistan Friend to be tracking him and being too strong late.
