The Jockey Club Mile will see a field of eight compete; with seven horses with a big job to do if one of them is to topple the favourite, BEAUTY GENERATION. It is pretty hard to bet against BEAUTY GENERATION considering he comes back to set-weights and has been dominating his opposition under handicap conditions. He will be a short-price and deservedly so. It’s very rare when framing a 100% market for Hong Kong racing to have one horse much shorter than $1.40, it’s nearly as short as I go. Essentially Beauty Generation would have to race below his best or be totally ridden against. A case can be made for SINGAPORE SLING who ran well against him when they clashed last time but he meets him 5.5kg worse at the weights. If having a trifecta, then SOUTHERN LEGEND and BEAUTY ONLY might be options to fill a minor spot, but there is no need to delve too deeply in to this contest.
