The rise in grade shouldn’t be a major issue for COMPLACENCY who was impressive when winning on a fast tempo at his last outing. There looks to be plenty of speed in this race, but he should work forward again in search of a position around the lead and take some catching with 4kg less to carry. ENDEARING remains in good form and although he won his last race in the Stewards room, he displayed his current well-being. He is drawn to get the right trip through out for him to run a good race again. VICTORY MACHINE was brave when absorbing a fast speed at his last run (race 88) at Happy Valley and he should be kept safe, particularly from an inside barrier. A New Zealand import SMART PATCH has worked quite well leading up to his debut although most of Paul O’Sullivan’s horses improve considerably with a run under the belt. That said, his win to break maidens before coming to Hong Kong had him looking to possess above average ability.
