I thought LITTLE BIRD was huge when defeated by Country Star last start. An above average horse in a race that rated well beat him and tonight Little Bird should get every favour from barrier 2. I expect that van Niekerk will try to dominate the race from there and if he repeats his last start he will go close to winning. BEAUTY LOYAL made my SID file following his last start where he missed away and didn’t get favours early. With a cleaner get-away he certainly can feature, although he’s a tricky runner to map. MY CHANCE has speed but will have to work hard from stall 11. Where he gets to will depend a lot on Zac Purton and HANDSOME BO BO who are drawn to his inside and also possess tactical speed. Both runners are chances at the right tempo, most particularly if they clear Little Bird without having to work too hard. I’m though to be on Little Bird as being one of the better bets on the card.
