Whilst STYLING CITY was a beaten favourite last start, he still showed enough to suggest he’d be the horse to beat in a race like this. He’s drawn on a better part of the track for today’s assignment and should be an improved horse second-up. He was well-beaten by MY BEGINNER’S LUCK that day (race 75) but is in receipt of a 5.5kg weight swing in his favour. That said My Beginner’s Luck might be able to work across from the far side and find a lead position, as is his pattern and how he races best. MR LUMIERES returns to Sha Tin and is suited to the conditions of this extended Class 3 event. He didn’t cope that well around a bend at Happy Valley last time and only hit the line evenly. PATCH BABY is an intriguingly placed horse, following a fresh up run on the dirt where he got back and ran on well. He’s delivered a couple of good performances on the turf over 1200m and if he can bring that level to this event he’ll fight out the finish. HINCHINLOVE made the SID file after a good debut at the Valley. He ran past Mr Lumieres that night and he’s one to consider at a tempting early price.
