One of the better bets on the card here presents with PRECIOUS SWEETIE, who has been excellent even in defeat at his last couple of runs. Once again, the manner in which he has been powering to the line over 1200m has indicated he will appreciate a step up in trip, which he gets today. The issues as always for this type of galloper are the map and overall pace the race is run. I have him mapped behind midfield and the pace overall looks a little muddling, so that has me temper my confidence and pricing accordingly. FOLLOW ME displayed nice improvement from his first to second run and the John Size-trained galloper looks a nice prospect going forward. He certainly looks like he can win a Class 4 and is a leading chance. BEST GIFT made our Sweet In Defeat file following his last outing and there was plenty to like about the manner in which he hit the line. He has a shocking draw however and again maps poorly.

This is a tricky race to map in some respects with not many horses competing that are natural “go forward” types. EXCEPTIONAL DESIRE might lead from ENERGETIC CLASS. COMPASSION STAR and VITAL SPRING could also be ridden to sit handy.
