This race isn’t likely to be run very quickly and subsequently it’s a case of giving the horses likely to be sitting close to the speed small pluses. TRIUMPHANT LIGHT looks like he can get the right run and comes through a decent race that Glory Star won at the Valley (race 119). He’s only won once in Hong Kong, which is a concern, and Whyte rides. MEGA TREASURE is the other leader and he will wear blinkers for the first time. He’s a former Almond Lee horse that should be fit and ready to run his best race third-up. INDIGENOUS STAR drops back from Class 4 and Zac Purton rides. His last runs rated highly enough for him to be one of the hardest to beat, he’ll just need some luck. The SHOW should back up well and can sit close during the running. I’ve given CHIU CHOW KID a couple of chances. He’s fit and going okay, maybe the drop back to 1600m will suit and he can break through. He’s been given his chances, but you’ll get a better price today compared with last start. At the prices it’s worth taking small win outlays on Triumphant Light and The Show.
