CHAPARRAL STAR looks the horse to beat in this event. He was terrific in defeat behind Sichuan Boss 10 days ago when he posted the third-best figures of the entire meeting. He is flying since joining Caspar Fownes, maps well here and is one of the best bets on the card. TRUE GRIT comes through the same form line (race 103) and he has to have obvious claims, although he will need some luck from a wide gate. ASSOCIATION FANS won nicely over the Valley mile on his last start and he can figure. The blinkers get applied to FLYING QUEST and given he hasn’t been far away in two starts this term; he might be able to fill a minor spot.
