MANAGEMENT STAR (SID) became a horse to follow following his first-up run this season when second to Le Pegase and the booking of Zac Purton for tonight is noteworthy. The barrier draw and where he maps is a slight issue but we can leave that in the hands of the Champion jockey. I expect that GLORY STAR will set a decent tempo and given he is now with “white hot” Jimmy Ting he is an interesting runner, even though his trial was lacklustre. However, Glory Star has a good fresh record 3 (1-1-0-1) and all three career wins have been in Class 5. NEVER BETTER drops to this class for the first time and although he has only won one race from 38 starts, he still looks better than most of this opposition. He might just improve with the outing being Paul O’Sullivan-trained. MONEY WINNER is the best of the rest with the form around Le Pegase, but is another with a poor winning strike rate… in fact he hasn’t won yet, so has a strike rate of zero. All things said, Management Star is a decent win bet to open the card with.
