Two promising staying types compete against each other again, GLORIOUS FOREVER and INSAYSHABLE. The former is the horse to beat based on his course record win over 2000m at the end of last when he sat off the latter and charged away. That day Insayshable was ridden to lead and try to undo the favourite and it probably wasn’t the optimal way to ride him. Insayshable won well fresh-up at Happy Valley (race 71) and still gets half a kilogram of weight off Glorious Forever today and could have a fitness edge. That said, Purton has chosen Glorious Forever and they looked impressive winning a Happy Valley trial. Glorious Forever looks a potential leader but here could be some pressure from PRAWN BABA, PACKING DRAGON and STIMULATION. Prawn Baba rates a good chance at his best and is a three-time winner in Class 2. GENERAL SHERMAN might not quite have the overall class of others, but if they overdo things up front he could swoop late to pick up some of the spoils as he did just behind Insayshable the last time they met. The market says it’s a two horse race and it’s hard to argue with this, I’m happy to side with Glorious Forever however.
