The best bet of the day races here, MONKEY JEWELLERY (SID). He posted some outstanding closing sectionals (21.78 third-best 400m of the day) over 1,200m on his debut when ridden patiently from a wide draw. He should settle closer today, but behind a genuine speed and with natural improvement from his first career start looks very had to beat. I expect that the form out of this race will be strong, with GENTLE BREEZE a genuine contender given his end of season form and his recent turf trial was encouraging. PRECIOUS SWEETIE also made the Sweet In Defeat files and there was a lot to like about his run first up when ridden quietly before powering home with a final furlong in 11.64. E MASTER was suited by a solid tempo first up for Caspar Fownes, but won well and has seemingly improved for the stable from what I’ve seen and heard since.
