summary

I am yet to be convinced about STYLING CITY being as special as the market seems to peg him at this stage of his career. This might be folly on my part as his juvenile wins were rather emphatic, but ultimately they didn’t rate anything special and I’m not sure that he beat much either. However, he is open to considerable improvement given his age and is unbeaten down the straight, so there’s a good chance he might show more today than he has before. I will be happy to go with TRIUMPHANT JEWEL though, who has won both starts this season for Jimmy Ting and if he runs to a similar mark again, then he will be hard to beat. MONEY BOY had 21 starts last season, so surely the freshen-up and break will be of benefit to him. He has placed in six of 10 starts down the straight course and looks a tad underrated. CAO CAO was a nice prospect in Australia and ran well down the straight at Flemington, placing twice. The market will be an interesting guide there. I’m happy to have small outlays primarily on Triumphant Jewel and to a lesser extent, Money Boy.

speed

I expect GOOD speed here with MY BEGINNER’S LUCK leading initially with three runners tracking him throughout, CAO CAO, STYLING CITY and WONDERFUL JOURNEY. MONEY BOY and TRIUMPHANT JEWEL shouldn’t be far away from the leaders either.
