There are three main chances in this event, JUMBO HAPPINESS, EAGLE and EIGHTY EIGHTY. There is little doubt in my mind Jumbo Happiness would have beaten Eagle last time but for losing momentum at a key stage and on this occasion he is better off at the weights. He also has a better second-up record so I have him marked favourite, albeit I don’t think there is too much between the aforementioned trio. Eagle will attempt to lead all the way again and that race (16) he won has incidentally worked out well with Red Warrior and Harbour Alert both scoring since. Eighty Eighty maps well again and he has to be given a good chance to go back to back even though Purton has opted to ride Jumbo Happiness (it may have been a previously locked-in commitment). Of the remainder, FANTASTIC FEELING was reasonably consistent last term over the course and distance tonight can run well once more. Ultimately you need to play price carefully (as per), and off early markets Eighty Eighty is the best proposition to back. That’s not to say as things develop that you back Jumbo Happiness at a sweet price as well.
