Two horses, namely NAMJONG PLUS and FAITHFUL TRINITY, made my Sweet In Defeat (SID) file following their last starts and by my assessment they can have the race between them tonight. Firstly Namjong Plus was solid over the mile last time when he sustained a good run to finish third behind Faithful Trinity (race 31) and he’ll no doubt strip fitter for that fresh effort. That said, a small field and a real lack of tempo might mean this race will play more in to the hands of Faithful Trinity to beat him again. Faithful Trinity looks well treated in the handicap for his recent win, which in itself rated relatively highly on the night. MCQUEEN will probably “box seat” in this event and he posted the best closing sectionals behind Sky Melody (who’s scratched) last start in what was a solid performance. However, he has only won once from 30 starts and that has to be taken in to account. The market seems too lopsided at this early stage and as a result, Faithful Trinity definitely looks the way to play.
