R10 BEIJING HANDICAP

summary

There is plenty on display in the final event, with some runners here that could potentially make it to Group level. LITTLE GIANT, GOOD STANDING, RAGING STORM and CRUISING all look very nice prospects, and it doesn’t end there. There looks plenty of speed on paper and that being the case, with the benefit of a run, WISHFUL THINKER has to be amongst the leading chances. He showed he could win this based on his first up run. Little Giant posted a big figure on the all-weather when winning last preparation but has obviously had a plethora of issues. Having said that, his New Zealand form reads well and highlighted his potential with a defeat of multiple Group One winner Humidor in the early days. Raging Storm had excuses at his last outing of last preparation, but I like the booking of Alberto Sanna who might let him find his feet early. This could be very suitable if the race is run at decent speed (as I forecast), hence Raging Storm might get the race run to suit. Cruising has only had two starts in Hong Kong and has impressed me in both. He too can run well. It’s a cracking race.

speed

There should be good competition for the lead here and pressure through out. CALIFORNIA FORTUNE should be amongst them early, with SHAMAL and FANTASTIC EIGHT. LITTLE GIANT can camp close and GOOD STANDING shouldn’t be many lengths from the top-end of the race either.
