This is a difficult race, although RED WARRIOR (also made ‘Sweet in Defeat’) looks interesting. He was wide without cover on his Hong Kong debut over 1200m but kept-on nicely and looked like a step up to 1650m would be suitable. He had a stack of trials prior to his first-up run, so not sure how much improvement there is out of that performance, but the distance rise is key (three UK wins were over 1600m) and he should be fitter than most. He can win but he is still a hard one to be overly confident about given he’s had just one local run. OUR HERO ran last over 1000m first-up, but his form back in February was sound and he might be some value. AMAZING SATCHMO went okay in a recent Happy Valley trial and might get the tempo to suit in this race. He is certainly good enough on form and ratings to be right in the finish with the right run. In summary though, Red Warrior is my top selection, although the value is certainly with Our Hero so use my ratings to measure the price you take to back, either or both runners.
