summary

CHIU CHOW KID made our ‘Sweet in Defeat’ file and this is a winnable race for him. He will relish the move up to 1800m, can settle closer and has the benefit of a run. In addition, the visor being applied might also help – he looks one of the better bets on the card. He is well clear of his rivals based on his first-up run (having posted the 16th-best of the night final-400m 22.72) and should prove hard to beat. Again it’s a Class 5 race where there isn’t much opposition on paper. THE JOY OF GIVING ran with some merit first-up but will need some luck from a wide gate. Much the same applies to CELEBRATION who is still yet to win locally from 15 starts, but his last two course and distance runs have been satisfactory. The 10lbs claim with Victor Wong riding DUTCH WINDMILL might assist this galloper and if on-pacers are hard to reel in on the “C+3” then MEGA TREASURE warrants some respect.

MEGA TREASURE appears the likely leader from GENTLEMEN and I expect the overall speed to be GOOD. SPINNING DANCER can position just behind these two with THE JOY OF GIVING likely to push forward.
