I don’t really want to be outlaying with any significance into this event. On the opening day of the season, GOKO and TRIUMPHANT JEWEL both won down the straight, and there was less than a length between how they each rated (the slight margin was in favour of Goko). However, Triumphant Jewel carries 7.5kg less this time and his last win was arguably on the wrong part of the track. Rookie trainer Jimmy Ting may genuinely have him going better than before. That said, the relatively lightly-raced Goko (5:3-1-0-1) has an excellent overall record over this course and distance. JING JING WIN has the cheek-pieces applied, has won two from three “fresh” and although he has never quite lived up to market expectations overall, he has drawn (high) well and can run accordingly. LUCKY BIRD is another runner that has decent upside and put together a super performance in Class 4 near the end of last season.
