R10 WASHINGTON D.C. HANDICAP

Sha Tin (M5) - Saturday, 22 September 2018

17:45 HK TIME

summary

The final race looks open on paper, but once again the 4.5kg claim of Victor Wong might come in to play here and very much aid CITRON SPIRIT. The Invincible Spirit gelding put in a solid resuming run when third to World Record and because he might have reached his mark in the handicap, the apprentice’s claim looks the right option. MORETHANLUCKY was one of the better four-year-olds from last term and he has won fresh before, maps well and has the overall quality to win the event. There looks to be quite a bit of pace in this one so that might play in to the hands of SUPER TURBO, who has also had the benefit of a run this term (race 18). He clocked the third-best final-400m (22.89) on that occasion, and while I concede his overall form is better at the city circuit, he isn’t overly exposed at Sha Tin. Another swooper is FAST MOST FURIOUS who looks to be well suited by running over 1400m first-up.

speed

There looks to be enough speed here with REGENCY BO BO, and ALMABABY the main “go forward” horses. MORETHANLUCKY and MAGIC LEGEND can take close order with CIRCUIT HASSLER a runner that could be asked to press forward from barrier 13.
