30 Units Strategy

best outlay

RACE 7

6 FRIENDS OF KA YING (rp – $4.00)

WIN (4 units) & PLACE (6 units)

FRIENDS OF KA YING maps very well and should be given every opportunity to win this event. He should be fit a ready to run close to his best following two good second placings this term and the 4.5kg claim of Victor Wong should enhance his chances further.

Result: 7th (-4 units)(-6 units) -> (-10 units)

NEXT BEST OUTLAYS

RACE 9

6 SUN TOUCH (rp – $4.00)

WIN (5 units)

13 RELENTLESS ME (rp – $5.00)

WIN (2.5 units)

SUN TOUCH was super when he resumed. He kept up a good-enough gallop to the line given he had sustained a decent amount of pressure sitting on top of a strong speed through out. RELENTLESS ME should also be backed to win given the early markets.

Result: 3rd (-5 units) + 2nd (-2.5 units) -> (-7.5 units)

RACE 3

7 FOLLOW ME (rp – $4.20)

WIN (4 units)

10 EMERALD SPUR (rp – $5.50)

WIN (2.5 units)

In a race that’s thin on overall chances, it’s worthwhile having a small “speck” on John Size’s debutant FOLLOW ME. He’s looked okay in Australian and Hong Kong trials in preparation for this. EMERALD SPUR isn’t drawn well, but delivered some sectionals last term that said he could be competitive here today.

Result: 6th (-4 units) + 9th (-2.5 units) -> (-6.5 units)

Next Best each way

RACE 5

8 A BEAUTIFUL (rp – $7.00)

WIN (2 units) & PLACE (4 units)

A BEAUTIFUL can lead this race and be rated by Derek Leung to get every favour from this position. He doesn’t win out of turn, but has had a run this term and that should have him ready score again off his current handicap mark.

Result: 1st @ $13.00 & $3.70 best corporate (+24 units)(+10.8 units) -> (+34.8 units)

Overall result for 30 unit strategy

+10.8 UNITS  (36% PROFIT)

It was am afternoon that delivered some super results for those who used my prices and were guided by strategies across each of the 10 races. The Best Selections and Strategies returned a profit as well without much luck going our way either.

Firstly Friends Of Ka Ying was very disappointingly ridden. Rather than sitting handy to a steady pace he was ridden to lead and asked to run 1.5 seconds inside of standard for the first 1000m! He understandably dropped out of contention and it’s a run to simply forget.

Sun Touch ran okay and is best rolling along at a good speed rather than sitting and sprinting. Relentless Me looked the winner for a moment but got rolled late in the piece – a solid effort.

Follow Me at first look appeared one-paced and Emerald Spur didn’t fire, but I’ll get a better line on this race when going through my “Sweet In Defeat” analysis. I will regularly post this on Thursday following the weekend and Monday following midweek racing.

A Beautiful ran exactly according to script, which was satisfying to see. Derek Leung rated him to perfection and he paid a great price for backers ($11 was widely available with corporates). That looked his race, so I’m not sure what else he’ll be able to pinch this season.

Race 6 and Race 8 delivered great priced winners for followers and tasty exotics were found across the card.

The next meeting is at Happy Valley on Wednesday. Make sure you join me then. Buy credits and get involved or become a VIP!
