There’s not much pace at all in this event, and unfortunately not much class contained within it either. The speed should be controlled by MY BLESSING and LE PEGASE with neither making a great deal of appeal given their form, but they might well be in the right spots. The key form reference is from the end of last season (Race 789) on July 11 where DUTCH WINDMILL, MONEY WINNER (who was well backed), MY BLESSING, MI BLANCO and CELEBRATION took part. Based on that event, Celebration and Dutch Windmill make the most appeal, but each appreciated the hot speed on that occasion and this race will be run in contrast to that. Both TORNEY and CLEMENT LEGEND is still Hong Kong maidens and hardly have inspiring form. To me this is a trappy and a puzzling opening event and I’ll be staying out.
