It would be no surprise to see Moreira and Purton fighting out the finish in the final race of the season and the market already reflects this likelihood with HEZTHEWONFORUS and SOLAR PATCH. However, there are also a couple of good value chances at big prices in this race that might surprise. Hezthewonforus should have won last time for Joao and I doubt he will make the same mistake again of not getting a run, not withstanding the fact he’ll jump from the widest draw! Even given that he is to me the horse to beat, although coming back to 1400m may not be ideal. Solar Patch is very short in betting, but John Moore has him running well and it’s no disgrace placing to Win Beauty Win. DRAGON GENERAL has been in excellent form and clearly can figure in the finish once again and the step up to 1400m might suit him. ATTENTION has flown under the radar a touch from two local starts and whilst he has a little to find on ratings, he could easily improve enough to put some value in to the exotics and might be worth a small win outlay at the odds.
