This is a difficult race due to a lack of tempo and overall pressure. In addition some of the main form chances on paper are either drawn wide or have a pattern where they are likely to get back in the field. MR PICASSO powered home at his last start posting a 10.62 (third-best at meeting) last 200m and with the drop in grade he is good enough to win. A similar case can be made for I’M THE CONQUIST who will be much better suited to the 1,200m, but from the outside gate he has an uphill task. FANTASTIC FABIO is drawn high but will go forward and if not forced to work too hard then he should be there for a fair way. There doesn’t look to be a huge amount of natural speed in the race, so the wide barrier might not be very significant. JOLLY BOUNTIFUL brings in the same form lines and after beating Fantastic Fabio last start is worse off by 1.5kg, but Joao jumps off to ride LIGHTNING MISSILE. Speaking of which, Lightning Missile got too far out of his ground last time and can improve. He could be asked to punch forward and sit amongst the leaders. Overall it’s a tough race where I recommend sitting out, although my prices are there for you to work with.
