Happy Valley (M87) - Wednesday, 11 July 2018

23:15 HK TIME

summary

This is a relatively open contest to start the night, however, the step up to a mile is very interesting for ROOKIE STAR. He comes from a good form race that included three subsequent winners (Beaut Beaut, Buoyant Boy and Oriental Elite) and he really closed off well (10.83 final 200m) in what was a slowly run race. Rookie Star gets a drop in grade and probably has a touch more upside than most. LETSGOFREE is another that will appreciate the move up in trip and his recent form is sound. From three starts in Class 5 over 1650m he’s had a win and a third placing. TELECOM TITAN had clear excuses at his last outing and his form prior was building quite nicely. Zac Purton jumps aboard him and if he can settle during the running is capable of finishing strongly over the extended mile. DUTCH WINDMILL has had quite a long season but he hit the line well enough at Sha Tin last start and he is better at Happy Valley, while GLORY STAR is capable on his day with all three of his wins being when in this class. It’s an even race with a small outlay only recommended on Rookie Star and Telecom Titan at the prices.
